Creative Schools Project 2023-2025
Starting in September 2023 and running until June 2025, our school was invited to participate in the Creative Schools Project in association with the Arts Council.
We are fortunate enough to be working with artist Gabi McGrath as our Creative School Advisor.
Together with Gabi and our team of teachers, snas and pupils we are working on supporting creativity in our school.

Setting up a school kitchen & running ‘Baking Bealtaine’ May 2024
In May 2024 we held our first ‘Baking Bealtaine’ event. Each class had the opportunity to cook/bake at least one recipe in small groups using our new children’s kitchen equipment.
We hope to continue this every May going forward.
Gabi McGrath Felt making and weaving workshops

Throughout our creative schools journey, our creative associate, Gabi McGrath has come into various classrooms to carry out felt-making and weaving workshops. You can see a sample of the work she has carried out below;
Andrea Kavanagh Ceramic Artist works with 3rd class
October 2024
Andrea Kavanagh is a ceramic artist who came to our school and worked over a number of days with Ms. Higgins’ third class.
Andrea visited the school over a number of weeks and worked with the pupils to create ceramic Christmas decorations.
Scoil Mhuire’s Art Exhibition
December 2024
On the 12th of December 2024 Scoil Mhuire held an art exhibition exhibiting the creativity from the students across the school.
