39 athletes from Scoil Mhuire took part in the annual inter-schools cross country event held in Adamstown on Wednesday 14th. The weather was very pleasant and obviously suited our runners as every one of the 39 returned with a medal. We got bronze in two team events, silver in two and then our Senior boys and girls finished the day in style by claiming gold in both races. Best individual performances came from Sarah Cramp and Faith Owusu, who won gold medals. Well done to everyone who represented the school so well. Well done also to the parents who provided transport and great support.
A special word of thanks to Mr McGinley, principal of St John the Evangelist school who organised the event. It ran off like clockwork.
There will be a full report in the November edition of Scoil Mhiure News.
