The Scoil Mhuire senior boys suffered two losses in the last fortnight but they can be very proud of their efforts.

The first game was played against an excellent Gaelscoil Naomh Padraig side in the 12th lock. After 15 minutes the sides were level at 3-3 a piece and Scoil Mhuire looked very threatening. However, Gaelscoil Naomh Padraig added 2-2 to their tally before half time to leave Scoil Mhuire with an uphill task. In the end Gaelscoil Naomh Padraig ran out comfortable winners. Best on the day were Daniel Kane and Robert Keher.

Our final group game was a winner-takes-all affair against St. Finians, Newcastle. With both teams level on points in the group a win was crucial. It was an end to end game from start to finish with both teams evenly matched. The sides finished level at the end of normal time which meant extra time. The Newcastle lads took the game to Scoil Mhuire who were out on their feet and managed to convert two goals in extra time. This was enough to see St. Finians through to the cup quarter final and Scoil Mhuire now face Scoil Lorcain, Palmerstown in the shield quarter final this Thursday.

The players involved in the two games were Robert Keher, Sam Colclough, Niall Higgins, Sean Treanor, Aryan Rawat, Charlie Byrne, Jack Hyland, Daniel Kane, Killian Gormley, Kevin Gormley, Max Hennessy, Gareth McDonnell, James Foley, Gallas Kebana, Titas Dubinskas, Fionn Buckley, Alex Turley, Sam McGeown, Alex O’Toole, Lee Brazil, Edward Nabulele and Paul Sherlock.
