Our senior boys gaelic football team won their opening three games of the season which means they have finished top of their group.
The boys opened their campaign against Gaelscoil Naomh Padraig in Lucan Sarfields on Wednesday, September 6th. This was a very close encounter with Scoil Mhuire just edging it by a couple of scores. Best on the day were Harry Lynham, Aaron Geoghegan, Krish Rawat, Calum Byrne, Noah Shields, Seán Doran, Seán Murphy, JP O’Connor and Azan Muhammad.
We played our second game in Palmerston against a very good Scoil Lorcáin side. The boys won this game a bit more comfortably and really impressed all in attendance. Best on the day were Sam Kennedy, Seán Ryan, Adam McNulty, Shane Wynne, Matthew McEvoy and Cillian Gamble.
Our final game took place during the heavy rain last Thursday. Although conditions made life difficult for players, the game was a terrific spectacle. Clonburris finished strongly and levelled matters with the last kick of normal time to bring the game into extra time. The Scoil Mhuire boys were determined to win and super sub Krish Rawat made sure we did with a cracker of goal. Best on the day were Daniel Sherlock, Adam Harrington, Jamie Harrington, Zac O’Sullivan, Emmet Kelleher and Seán Coleman.
The boys now have a quarter final to look forward to in the next couple of weeks. Well done to all involved and thanks to parents for lifts and support.
Training every Wednesday at lunch.
