On Friday last in the hall we had the finals of Scoil Mhuire’s Got Talent 2015. 12 acts from 3rd class to 6th class took to the stage to sing, dance, play music and throw a baton. Auditions had been held in the weeks previous with more than 60 acts vying for a place in the final. The standard was exceptionally high and it almost a shame that we had to pick a winner.
There were more than 400 people in the hall but for the first time we also had a live TV audience as we broadcast the show live on Scoil Mhuire TV. Lots of parents were able to tune in online as did two other primary schools (one from Balgaddy and one from Cork!). In total we had almost 200 connections to our live stream! Everyone who watched the show had a chance to vote. Over 50 votes were recorded online and these were added to the 400 votes taken within school. These were then combined with our 6th class judges votes. The talent was so high that every single act received votes but there could only be one winner and it was Ben from 6th class who played ‘Shake it Off’ on the fiddle. In second place was Ellie & Anderson from 6th with their rap and song and in third place was Emma from 3rd for her wonderful singing performance.
All of those performances and everyone elses can be seen in full on Scoil Mhuire TV now by clicking the link below. Well done to everyone who took part and well done to 6th class for organising it.
