After our unexpected break, Scoil Mhuire will reopen tomorrow as per the text sent earlier (if you haven’t been receiving these texts please contact the office). This is due mainly to the fantastic response we had to our appeal for help with clearing the snow and making the grounds safe. There were around 50 volunteers who did Trojan work from 11am to about 12.30pm this morning. There are now safe paths through the snow in the yard and at the pedestrian access points. Tomorrow the children will not line up in the yard – they will go straight into the school. Gillian, our school traffic warden will be on duty as usual, but be careful on the paths, as they may be slippy and bumpy from piled snow. Parents should choose appropriate footwear for their children. I have received reports that Tandy’s Lane is still blocked, so that will divert more traffic than usual through Hillcrest. This may cause delays – if you are running late for school, there is no need to worry. We will understand, because of the morning that is in it.
And finally, if you have enough time please park outside Woodview Hts and Airlie Hts, and walk in – this is because we are expecting the traffic flow to be slower than normal due to residual slush / snow on the road.
Regards,
John Egan
