Scoil Mhuire 4-8

Scoil Mhuire booked their place in the semi final of the shield with a convincing win over Scoil Lorcáin, Palmerstown in Glenaulin Park this afternoon.

Scoil Lorcáin started the game brightly kicking the first score of the game. Scoil Mhuire soon replied with a well taken goal by Titas Dubinskas after great build up play from Max Hennessy. The Palmerstown side got a goal of their own after their corner forward directed a long shot over the helpless Robert Keher. After this Scoil Mhuire took control and kicked four unanswered points into a strong breeze. These scores came from Niall Higgins, Tommy Mulhall (2) and an outstanding score from Gareth McDonnell. Robert Keher’s accurate kickouts and the fantastic movement of Daniel Kane, Jack Hyland, Charlie Byrne and Kevin Gormley were key to Scoil Mhuire retaining possession.

Scoil Mhuire started the 2nd half in the same fashion with man of the match Titas Dubinskas adding another goal to his account just after the restart thanks to a great assist from Alex O’Toole. Gallas Kebana’s tireless work was rewarded when he blasted home a superb goal from the 14 yard line. Scoil Lorcáin were looking for goals now but excellent defending from Paul Sherlock, Aryan Rawat, Seán Treanor and Killian Gormley meant they had to settle for three points. The Airlie Heights lads added another 1-4 to their tally in the closing stages with Tommy Mulhall scoring another 1-2 and Max Hennessy and Alex Turley getting on the score sheet.
