Protecting our children in the Digital Age

Accessibility to computers and the internet is much more freely available to children of all ages nowadays. In order to make parents aware of the potential dangers and appropriate security measures to take, Scoil Mhuire’s Parents’ Association are organising a talk in connection with child security on computers.

The talk will be given by Mr Pat McKenna, Director of Childwatch.ie and will take place in the school hall on Monday 7th February at 7.45pm

The presentation for parents exposes the world of the online predator, the material that they revel in, the harm that this does to its victims. It then examines the techniquest of these people as they approach children through the computer and mobile phone. Finally it addresses key issues that parents should attend to when securing their home computer environment.

We would like to invite all parents to attend this information night, friends are more than welcome too.
