Our poetry book was launched last Friday in the school hall, by Mr. Thynne.

All the children were in attendance for a lovely ceremony which included music, poetry reading and a presentation to Paddy Mulhern, our caretaker who has retired after nine years of loyal service.

The poetry book, which was printed and published locally by Martone Press, contains over 300 poems :

-individual contributions from every child from 2^nd to 6^th class ;

-class poems from infants and first class;

-some poems submitted by parents and grandparents

– poems written by our past pupils.

-and, of course a selection of Paddy’s poems, which provided the inspiration for the book.

We are very pleased with how the book has turned out  and we feel it would be a lovely souvenir to have in the years ahead.

The book is on sale in the school at a cost of €7 each or 2 for €10.

It is also available from Hillcrest News, Lucan Library and Abtree Bookshop at €7 each.

This is not a fund raising operation. The proceeds will be used to pay for the printing and publication of the book.

Please send money in an envelope to your  child’s teacher with your child’s name and the number of books you wish to purchase .(Limited to 2 per child at the moment)
