The good news just keeps rolling in. Brendan Gallagher, a past pupil of Scoil Mhuire, was selected on the 2015 Blue Stars team. The Blue Stars is the Dublin equivalent of the All Stars and Brendan was selected at full forward when the team was announced this week. This is a fantastic achievement, and while gaelic football is , of course, a team game, it is important that individual excellence is acknowledged too. Brendan shone as a future star when he played for Scoil Mhuire back in the nineties and he was lucky enough to make a Croke Park appearance in 1998. It is a source of great pride for Brendan and his family and we are delighted for him.
Well done too to Emmet O Conghaile, also from Lucan Sarsfields, who was also selected on the team. Emmet did not attend Scoil Mhuire but he has visited us a number of times with “Sam”, and as well as being a fine footballer , he is a modest , confident young man who has a big future with Dublin ahead of him.
