It was group stages day in the 3rd/4th class mini leagues on Wednesday as 68 boys and girls fought it out on the Lucan United pitches for the honour of playing in the grand finals on Thursday. And after a series of thrilling matches which produced two draws , the stage is set for tomorrow’s finals which will be played on Scoil Mhuire’s own pitch , which has been cut specially for the occasion by Alan Mc Govern.
The girls’ final will be played at 1.40pm and will feature Sligo, captained by Zoe Jakab and Kerry, who are led by Clodagh Mc Donnell.
In the boys’ decider at 2pm, Titas Dubinskas’ Galway will meet Killian Gormley’s Offaly. These teams could not be separated in the group stages so a thrilling final is expected.
There are a small few tickets left for the finals but come early to get a good view.
The finals will be refereed by two of our past pupils , who will be selected from our referees’ panel which contains Phillip Kane, Sean Egan, Ben O’ Toole and Charlie Keher. Each team is managed by two 6th class pupils,
