Boys and girls,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful surprise you gave me on the day of my retirement. I did not want my last day to be a sad one and you certainly helped to cheer me up with your brilliant flash mob routine. I still can’t figure out how you managed to practice it without me knowing.
I also want to thank you for being such wonderful children. Scoil Mhuire is a great school and you have helped to make it great.
Thank you for all the handshakes.
Thank you for all the smiles.
Thank you to the infants for nearly knocking me down with your enthusiasm every time I brought the bell out to the yard.
Thank you to the older children for letting me practice my basketball shots when I was on yard duty.
Thank you for answering my €1 questions.
Thank you for taking part in all our big occasions and for making them so memorable.
Thank you for your gifts and your lovely words when I was leaving.
And thank you for all the wonderful memories you left me with from my time in Scoil Mhuire.
To the boys and girls who graduated from 6th class, I wish you the very best of luck in secondary school.
To the boys and girls who will be back to Scoil Mhuire in September, I know you will continue to make Scoil Mhuire the happy, welcoming school that it has always been.
See you at the Carol Service,
Mr Ellis.
