23rd Sep 2013

Beginning on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, every child in Scoil Mhuire will be taking part in a movement and dance class as part of their PE programme. Gráinne Clifford, who is a qualified secondary school teacher specialising in dance, will be conducting a programme which will last for 5 weeks. (Until the Halloween Break) Grainne will spend the full day in school for the next 5 Wednesdays and Thursdays . She will work with the juniors (jun infants-2nd) on Wednesdays and on Thursdays she will take the seniors.
Movement and Dance is one of the strands of the PE Curriculum and we are delighted to have Gráinne working with us to help us implement this strand. Gráinne worked with some of the children in the school last year as part of our Active Schools Week. She made a great impression on staff and children alike . She has devised a very exciting and innovative programme for the children and they will get great enjoyment from it as well as learning lots.

Teachers will inform the children if their regular PE time is being moved to accommodate this programme.
