2nd Jun 2016

For the month of June we will be nominating a “Hero of the Week” each week.

There is no prize given out, but the winner each week will be someone who has gone beyond the call of duty to help others, without being asked. A number of people received class nominations today but this week our overall  Hero of the Week is Killian Gormley from Ms Dillon’s class. On Tuesday, Killian travelled to Dalymount Park to support the Scoil Mhuire soccer team in their quest for glory. Killian took it on himself to act as cheerleader and he really succeeded in getting the supporters worked up, as the players battled it out on the field in scorching hot weather. A number of players commented how the support of the fans drove them on when they were feeling tired.

Well done Killian.

PS: If anyone finds Killian’s voice, which he lost ,please leave it into the office.

In May we awarded the first Hero award to Adam Mc Nulty from Ms Bennett’s/Ms Carroll’s class. Adam stopped in the middle of his cross country race in Corkagh Park, to help his team-mate Shane Wynne, who had fallen. By doing so he lost any chance of winning his race but he showed great sportsmanship and great camaraderie by his actions.
