There is a case of hand, foot and mouth disease in one of our junior classes.
According to the HSE website it ‘a common, mild illness caused by a virus’.
It has nothing to do with ‘Foot and Mouth’ disease.
The symptoms include a non itchy rash that develops on the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet. It can also cause ulcers in your mouth and make you feel generally unwell.
Adults can develop milder symptoms.
It’s a timely reminder for the children to a) wash their hands after the toilet, b) dry them with their hand towel c) get their hand towel washed regularly and d) to refrain from close physical contact with their classmates.
Thanks you
John Egan
