On Tuesday, our juniors played their final game against Gaelscoil na Camóige, from Clondalkin. Just like the 3rd class match the day before, this match was a thriller from start to finish. With a squad of 24 players there was a lot of rotation but every single boy was a star for Scoil Mhuire. Benjamin Ubaekwe continued his heroics in goal and was beaten on only one occasion . Diarmuid Keher, Nathan Weafer McGovern and Evan Colgan worked tirelessly and Alex Hickey scored a brilliant second half goal to seal victory. Brendan Ruddy, Anderson Kebana and Thomas McClelland were others to shine while Stephen McInerney put in a great performance in midfield. His partner in midfield, Dylan Byrne stole the show with an all action display of catching, kicking, running and scoring.
With 6th class boys being rested , the 4th and 5th class boys took their chance to show what they could do, and, combined with Monday’s third class display, the future looks very bright for Scoil Mhuire.
