As some of you may have seen on last night’s news there is a humanitarian crisis developing in Bosnia and Serbia due to unprecedented rainfall resulting in serious flooding.

Some families in our school are directly affected by this emergency.

In a gesture of support we are organising a collection of the following items;

  • Tinned food
  • Powdered milk
  • Cooking oil
  • Toiletries and hygiene items
  • Nappies
  • Wellies
  • Over the counter / non prescription medicines

Red Cross Ireland and the Serbian Association of Ireland have organised a truck which will leave Dublin on Wednesday, so we must have all the items ready for collection by tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday, May 20. For more details please contact Mark Keating of Red Cross Ireland (087 2640781).

If each child just brings in 1 item it would make a huge difference. Your child can give the item(s) to their teacher tomorrow morning, or you can drop anything into a blue crate which will be left in the front lobby from 1.30pm today.
