This week is Engineers week and Mr. Kirwan’s fifth class was treated to a visit from Sinéad Murphy who is an engineer and mother of students Sadhbh and Hugh Porter. Sinéad did a very interesting presentation on engineering and told the children about her experiences before allowing them to ask some questions. The children were really interested and had some brilliant questions for Sinéad.

Sinéad finished off with a competition. Each group had to build their own Eiffel Tower using only tooth picks and marshmallows and the winning table was Wicklow. Well done to all children and a huge thank you to Sinéad Murphy.
