This local derby ended up in a thrilling draw as both sets of girls left everything on the pitch in a very entertaining game in Lucan Sarsfields last Wednesday. A Jessica Okakpu goal saw Scoil Mhuire lead at half time but their opponents battled back to ensure a fair result. Carla Delmar and Erica O’Reilly worked tirelessly in midfield while Aoife Woods played a stormer. In defence, Erris Smith, Sinéad Keogh and Chi Chi Ubaekwe were excellent.
This result leaves Scoil Mhuire unbeaten after two games and they now face Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada in a crucial group decider.
Well done to the girls who turned out to play despite having to rush off to the One Direction concert later.
