The boys soccer team got their season off to winning ways yesterday with a 6-2 victory over Scoil Bhríde, Blanchardstown. The lads led 3-0 at the break thanks to goals from Adam McNulty, Calum Byrne and Noah Shiels. Blanchardstown started the second half brightly and got a goal back straight from tip-off. However, the Scoil Mhuire lads gathered their composure again and scored another 3 goals in the second half. Calum Byrne finished with a hat-trick, Adam McNulty scored 2 and Noah Shiels got 1.
Mr. Kirwan was really impressed with everyone, especially the new players Adam Harrington, Jamie Harrington, Sean Doran, Sean Coleman, Emmet Kelleher, Cillian Gamble, J.P. O’Connor, Cian Moran and Matthew McEvoy.
Man of the match: Calum Byrne.
The lads now play St. Patrick’s Drumcondra away in the next round of the Cup
