Once again we are running a forecast competition in conjunction with the upcoming All Ireland Football Final between Donegal and Mayo. This week, children from 2nd to 6th classes will bring home their forecast sheet. Details are printed on the sheets. It only costs €2 to forecast the score and there are plenty of prizes as well as a draw in each class for children who bring in a forecast sheet.
Proceeds, after prizes are given out, go to providing new sports equipment and towards employing some outside expertise in some area of sport.
Last year we were able to fund a six week gymnastics programme for every child in the school.
In 2010 we purchased new basketball apparatus for the hall.
This year the children have already had a skipping workshop and there will be plenty more expenses during the year.
Sheets should be returned to the school by Friday 21st September at the latest.
