Dear parents, our original start date for returning to school was Tuesday, Sept 1st. We will be opening that day, but only receiving children from Infants to 2nd class. Then on Wednesday, Sept 2nd the children from 3rd to 6th will come to school. On Thursday, Sept 3rd all the classes will return. This is to facilitate the phasing in of the drastic changes that have been planned for the arrival of pupils, the staggered breaktimes and their going home times.

For the arrival of pupils, we will use the 3 pedestrian gates as follows;

All children with family names beginning with the initial A, B, C, D, E, F and G and who walk or cycle to school will enter the school by Pedestrian Entrance 1.
All children with family names beginning with H, I, J, K, L and M and who walk or cycle to school will enter by Pedestrian Entrance 2. All Junior Infants will use this gate also.
All children with family names beginning with any initial from N to Z and who walk or cycle to school will enter by Pedestrian Entrance 3. This is the gate opposite Lucan Utd pitches.

The drive-thru will operate as normal, but only children can get out of the cars. Please ensure they get out of the car on the front passenger side. There will be 12 staff on duty monitoring gates, doors, the drive thru, the yard and corridors ensuring children get to their classroom safely.

No parents are allowed onto the school premises in the morning time. The children will have a window of 15 minutes (8.45am to 9am) to enter the school grounds. Please do your best to enable your child to arrive at school in that time window. They will go directly to their classroom where their class teacher will be waiting for them from 8.45am. There will be hand sanitization points at each of the pedestrian gates.

Each class group will be given a specific door or entry point to come into the building – pictures of these and their designated classes will be posted later today, along with information about the going home times.
