12th Mar 2017

To celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge we are asking the children to speak Irish at home with their families. You can video a short conversation while undertaking a normal household task – it might be setting the table or preparing a meal. The short video can be emailed to office@scoilmhuire.ie or tagged with our twitter handle, @SMhuire Homework passes will be awarded for the best videos.

We will also be hosting the usual Seachtain na Gaeilge events throughout the week, and parents are welcome. The times are as follows;

Ceolchoirm (concert) on Wednesday; Infants to 2nd class at 11.30am and 3rd to 6th at 1.30pm

Céilí on Thursday; Infants to 2nd class at 11.30am and 3rd to 6th at 1.30pm

On Thursday evening at 7.30pm there will be a show in the hall also – this will involve some children from 3rd to 6th who will be entertaining the audience with a variety of performances showcasing our culture – from traditional Irish music to song to dance to recitations – everybody is welcome, and it promises to be a great evening’s entertainment.
