Science week has just finished up here in Scoil Mhuire. We had a busy week in 5th class. On Monday, along with Ms Gilmartin’s 4th class, we went to the library to listen to Peter (a lecturer in Robotics and a person who has built many cool robots) who talked to us about the past, present and future of robots. He showed us some videos of robot cars he made for Top Gear and videos of robots that battle other robots. He showed us robots who can climb stairs and robots that can perform surgery!

On Wednesday, our class and Ms Reilly’s 5th class, ran science stations for the children from Junior Infants, 1st Class and 4th Class. On Thursday 6th class ran the stations for the other classes. These stations were about electrical circuits, static electricity, forces and magnetism. There was 18 stations in all with different activities at this one. We had to know our activity really well so we could explain it properly for the younger children.

On Friday we had a table quiz in the hall with everyone from 3rd class to 6th class. Teams 5 and 13 won the table quiz and they will be getting their prizes tomorrow.

There are some pictures below and Mr. Roche’s class have put together a small video highlights clip. You can see that by visiting Scoil Mhuire TV or by clicking the link below.
