The children started off their week with “Wake Up Shake Up” in the yard. This involved the whole school copying exercises modelled by Ms. Ryan and Ms. Smyth. The children needed no extra motivation as the Rocky theme song blared from the speakers.

Next up was 10@10 where the children did ten minutes of dance in their classrooms.

5th and 6th class were involved in a duathlon workshop after this. A duathlon is a race which involves running and cycling. The instructor, Gary, set up a track in the yard and the children showed their competitive sides as they raced each other to the finish line.

3rd/4th class then competed

in a tug of war competition. Cathy, the tug of war coach, put the children through their paces as they battled it out to bring the marker on the rope over to their side.

The day concluded with a game of rounder’s. Teams were mixed between 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.

Day 1 of an eventful and exciting week down and 4 to go!
