The boys soccer team were narrowly defeated by 3 goals to 2 in their first league game of the season by St. Patrick’s, Corduff two weeks ago. Scoil Mhuire took the lead through Harry Watkins after a well worked move. However, Corduff took over in the second half and took a 3-1 lead after a 15 minute period of dominance. Alex Turley narrowed St, Patrick’s advantage with 5 minutes to go but Scoil Mhuire couldn’t find an equaliser. Well done to all, especially Gallas Kebana, Lee Hollowed and man of the match Aaron Geoghegan who impressed in their first game for the school team.

The lads bounced back in style last Tuesday to book their place in the quarter final of the Pegasus cup. They defeated Bracken ETNS, Balbriggan 6-2 in a very entertaining game in Airlie Heights. It was a very windy day but that didn’t stop the Scoil Mhuire lads playing brilliant football. Sam Kennedy, Calum Byrne, Conor Carroll and man of the match Alex Turley (3) scored the goals. Troy O’Dowd, Darlington Odia and Max Hennessy were also excellent on the day.

We have two league games this week and have been draw against St. Joseph’s, East Wall in the quarter final of the cup.

Well done to all involved
